from what i have heard if you enter the wrong password 3 times it will reset the kindle
and remove all user settings.

Excellent & informative post! Its really very interesting to see the ransformational nature of personal communication & computing technology in last 20 years.

The analytical reasoning behind the evolution of netbooks to laptop & mobile phones to smartphones to tablet is nothing but the market force which driven the whole communication technology from miniaturization to functionality to large touch screen to portable & faster computing.

Consumers of handheld communication devices in the whole world is currently devided in 3 main groups. The current market rockers are Kindle Fire from Amazon, iPad from Apple & Galaxy Tab from Samsung. Who will get largest share of the pie entirely depends on the value proposition the product offers. Say, iPad2 is high priced & a highly feature loaded tablet. On the other hand, Kindle Fire is targeting low spenders who love to consume e-contents and dont bother about unlimited storage but bother about price.

And the recent release of Samsung Galaxy Note is nothing but the merging of Tablets & Smartphones is cutting the growth of current hot sellers.

I have a new Kindle Fire and am having an awful time with fingers hitting the wrong keys. Now I have a password set up and it is not what I wanted so I don't know what it should be. Does anyone have a suggestion how I can reset the system so I can access the thing?

I bought the Fire for my daughter (who plays bakery story on her mom's iPad). She was pretty bummed to find out that it is not available on the Fire. Any chance of it soon?

It might be released to compete with the HARDWARE of the Kindle Fire, but unless Google has the same digital content distribution as Amazon (Prime), it won't be able to compete.

amazing device!! bought it in the US on november. only problem i had was that it had content limitations which prevented me fro enjoying it fully outside the US. luckly i found this new application that solved all my problems: World Wde KindleFire.
that app simply lets meenjoy everything from Amazon just like i was inside the US.

since i bought it i cant stop enjoying :)

I received a Fire for Christmas and it is amazing. Looking forward to many years of use with it. Works likr a charm. I am 75 years old!
